American Made Dining Tables, made in the USA by Amish craftsman, custom hand built for you.
Our Amish dining pub/gathering tables are made from select solid hardwood furniture woods. Amish gathering tables sit higher than the standard 30” dining table. Amish gathering tables are 36” tall and use a 24” barstool to sit. You can also do a 42” high gathering table and have a 30” barstool. When choosing a solid wood gathering table you need to make sure you have enough space around the table. Normally we recommend a 36” gap from the edge of the dining table to the wall. This allows enough space for an Amish dining chair to be moved into position and also have room behind the chair. All of our gathering/pub tables have a 1” thick top made from solid wood as standard. All of our solid wood gathering tables have the option of circular or square solid wood tops. Our circular tops come in available sizes: 42”, 48” or 54”.
Our gathering/pub dining tables mostly have a pedestal base that has a main support in the middle with 4 extensions branching out for support. There are also pub tables that are leg tables. The solid wood gathering/pub tables cannot self store. Gathering/pub dining tables can only have up to 3 leaves with a pedestal base and more leaves if it’s a leg style. On pedestal gathering/pub tables the base stands still while the top moves. On leg pub tables the legs separate from each other and after the 3rd leg there needs to be a 5th leg added in the middle for support. Levelers are always standard to keep the table level.
All of our solid wood gathering/pub tables are made from Brown Maple, Cherry, Oak or Quartersawn White Oak. On all of our solid wood gathering/pub tables we use two coats of conversion varnish. All of our gathering dining tables are built with the leaves already installed during the building process to allow each of the leaves to be sanded in place. With this sanding process it makes sure that the gathering/pub dining tables will have an excellent high quality end product. Each leaf is numbered so that installation is easier and that the gathering/pub dining table fits specifically with its leaves.
Most of our solid wood gathering/pub dining tables fit to today’s modern solid wood dining table specifications. There are many different styles of gathering tables to choose from whether it be Modern, Mission, Shaker. The Mission style is very popular in Amish solid wood gathering/pub tables with its straight edges and heavier in weight. Some Amish craftsmen are building modern styled furniture with clean lines and smooth look.
The last step in building your furniture is to choose a wood stain. There are many types of wood stain to choose from in our stain category but Michael’s cherry stain is one or our most popular stain colors. All of our stains are sprayed on and wiped off to give a stunning beauty. Amish builders hand build all of our solid wood gathering/pub dining tables by using time tested mortise and tenon joints.
