American Made Dining Tables, made in the USA by Amish craftsman, custom hand built for you.
Our solid wood pedestal dining tables come in standard sizes of 42” wide and 48” wide. All of our pedestal dining tables have a 1” thick top made from solid wood as standard. The standard table height of our solid wood pedestal dining tables are 30”. When choosing a solid wood pedestal dining table you need to make sure you have enough space around the table. Normally with a 42” wide long pedestal dining table we recommend a 36” gap from the edge of the dining table to the wall. This allows enough space for an Amish dining chair to be moved into position and also have room behind the chair. All of our solid wood pedestal dining tables have the option of certain solid wood tops and for most pedestal tables round or square are standard.
Our pedestal dining tables have a main base at the center of the table with 4 extensions branching out for support. All of our pedestal dining tables can self store but depending on the style. Pedestal dining tables can only have up to 3 leaves unless it’s a double pedestal, which can do up to 4. Another option is the split pedestal that can go up to 12 leaves. This happens by having the base unhook and split in half with another base within it. Having the middle base within the larger split base helps support as the two ends separate. This can only happen if the table is 48” wide due to the wood slides that pile up in order to reach that long. On all pedestal tables the base stands still while the top moves. Levelers are always standard to keep the table level because of its short base. Most Pedestal tables have geared slides as a standard.
All of our solid wood pedestal dining tables are made from American Red Oak, Cherry, Brown Maple or Quartersawn White Oak. On all of our solid wood pedestal tables we use two coats of conversion varnish. All of our pedestal dining tables are built with the leaves already installed during the building process to allow each of the leaves to be sanded in place. With this sanding process it makes sure that the pedestal dining tables will have an excellent high quality end product. Each leaf is numbered so that installation is easier and that the pedestal dining table fits specifically with its leaves.
Most of our solid wood pedestal dining tables fit to today’s modern solid wood dining table specifications. There are many different styles of pedestal tables to choose from whether it be Modern, Mission, Shaker or Arts& Crafts. The mission style is very popular in Amish solid wood pedestal tables with its straight edges and heavier in weight. A more modern style with clean and straight lines is also very popular with solid wood pedestal tables.
The last step to finalizing your order would be to figure out your wood stain. There are many types of wood stain to choose from in our stain category but Michael’s cherry stain is one or our most popular stain colors. All of our stains are sprayed on and wiped off to give a stunning beauty. Amish builders hand build all of our solid wood pedestal dining tables by using time tested mortise and tenon joints.
