American Made Dining Tables, made in the USA by Amish craftsman, custom hand built for you.
Our Amish dining trestle tables are made from select solid hardwood furniture woods. We can build the Amish dining table in multiple sizes. Our solid wood trestle dining tables come in standard sizes of 42” wide and 48” wide. The standard table height of our solid wood trestle dining tables are 30”. When choosing a solid wood trestle dining table you need to make sure you have enough space around the table. Normally with a 42” wide long trestle dining table we recommend a 36” gap from the edge of the dining table to the wall. This allows enough space for an Amish dining chair to be moved into position and also have room behind the chair. All of our trestle dining tables have a 1” thick top made from solid wood as standard. All of our solid wood trestle dining tables have the option of certain solid wood tops.
Our trestle dining tables have a base that is formed by two main pieces held together by a middle bar for table support. All of our trestle dining tables can self store but depending on the style. Trestle dining tables can only have up to 4 leaves or up to 2 butterfly leaves. With a butterfly leaf you pull open the wooden table slides and expose the butterfly leaf pins. The butterfly leaf is then folded in half and it self stores inside the trestle table. Unlike with a solid wood leg table that has one butterfly leaf in the middle, the trestle table has one on each end of the table. On all trestle tables the base stands still while the top moves. Levelers are always standard to keep the table level. Most trestle tables have geared slides as a standard.
All of our solid wood trestle dining tables are made from Brown Maple, Cherry, Oak or Quartersawn White Oak. On all of our solid wood trestle tables we use two coats of conversion varnish. All of our trestle dining tables are built with the leaves already installed during the building process to allow each of the leaves to be sanded in place. With this sanding process it makes sure that the trestle dining tables will have an excellent high quality end product. Each leaf is numbered so that installation is easier and that the trestle dining table fits specifically with its leaves.
Most of our solid wood trestle dining tables fit to today’s modern solid wood dining table specifications. There are many different styles of trestle tables to choose from whether it be Modern, Mission, Shaker. The mission style is very popular in Amish solid wood trestle tables with its straight edges, mortise and tenons and heavier in weight. Some Amish craftsmen are building modern styled furniture with clean lines and smooth look.
The last step in building your furniture is to choose a wood stain. There are many types of wood stain to choose from in our stain category but Michael’s cherry stain is one or our most popular stain colors. All of our stains are sprayed on and wiped off to give a stunning beauty. Amish builders hand build all of our solid wood trestle dining tables by using time tested mortise and tenon joints.
