American Made Dining Tables, made in the USA by Amish craftsman, custom hand built for you.
Our solid wood long leg dining tables come in standard sizes of 42” wide and 48” wide. All of our leg dining tables have a 1” thick top made from solid wood as standard but others may be thicker. The standard table height of our solid wood long leg dining tables is 30”. When choosing a solid wood leg dining table you need to make sure you have enough space around the table. Normally with a 42” wide long leg dining table we recommend a 36” gap from the edge of the leg dining table to the wall. This allows enough space for an Amish dining chair to be moved into position and also have room behind the chair. All of our solid wood leg dining tables have the option of certain solid wood tops; which are boat shape, square, clipped corner, winged, square round, or round.
Our long leg tables have a leg on each corner of the table that attaches to the dining table skirt. All of our solid wood long leg dining tables are offered with 12” leaves. There is also the choice of having leaves with skirts or not with skirts. A skirt is a decorative piece of wood that frames below the solid wood top. Our solid wood long leg dining tables are not able to self store leaves. When the solid wood leg dining table is pulled apart to make room for the leaves, this creates an opening with no support to keep the leaves from falling.
All of our solid wood leg dining tables are made from American Red Oak, Cherry, Brown Maple or Quartersawn White Oak. Quarter sawn white oak has a very low tendency to warp and also resists water very well. Brown Maple and Cherry are softer woods but Brown Maple has more color variation and Cherry has more consistency. On all of our solid wood leg tables we use two coats of conversion varnish. All of our long leg dining tables are built with the leaves already installed during the building process to allow each of the leaves to be sanded in place. With this sanding process it makes sure that the long leg dining tables will have an excellent high quality end product. Each leaf is numbered so that installation is easier and that the leg dining table fits specifically with its leaves.
Most of our solid wood long leg dining tables fit to today’s modern solid wood dining table specifications. There are many different styles of leg tables to choose from whether it be Modern, Mission, Shaker or Arts& Crafts. The shaker design shows a leg style that tapers from top to bottom. The arts & crafts dining tables are inspired by Stickley which was a famous arts & crafts dining table builder. The mission style is very popular in Amish solid wood leg tables with its straight edges and heavier in weight.
When finalizing your order, the last step to figure out would be choosing your wood stain. There are many types of wood stain to choose from in our stain category but Michael’s cherry stain is one or our most popular stain colors. All of our stains are sprayed on and wiped off to give a stunning beauty. Amish builders hand build all of our solid wood leg dining tables by using time tested mortise and tenon joints.
